Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the class you wish to take. You will need to fill out a quick registration form and discuss any injuries/health issues with your instructor prior to class.
Bring a yoga mat, long towel and water. Each student is required to have all three while practicing. Feel free to bring your own or purchase from the studio. Wear what you feel good sweating in. Breathable fabric is preferred. Avoid cotton if possible. No phones, shoes or other belongings allowed in studio room. Mats and towels are also available to rent for $2 each!
Making sure you have plenty of water throughout the day before you practice.
Water can be purchased in studio or bring a bottle to use. coconut water or other electrolyte drinks can also be helpful before, during or after your practice.
Remember to drink plenty of water after your practice to stay hydrated.
Allowing a couple hours to pass after your last meal before your practice is usually needed. Some people need more or less time so you need to see what works best for you.
Feel free to take a break whenever you feel necessary by laying down or sitting quietly on your mat. The desire for breaks fades as you focus on your breath and become adjusted to your environment.
If for any reason you must leave early, please let the instructor know before class so they can assist you with the least disruption as possible.
Yoga is meant for all ages, all bodies, and all types of people! As long as you are focused on your breath and doing the best you can you will receive all the benefits of each pose even if you are not as flexible or perfectly balanced as someone next to you.
A consistent practice of 4 times a week will allow you to receive maximum benefits. You will still receive these benefits with a reduced amount of time, it just may take a little longer.

Hydrate well before class, avoid eating heavy meals 2-3 hours prior, arrive early to acclimate to the studio's heat, and inform the instructor that it's your first time. Familiarize yourself with basic yoga poses to feel more comfortable.
Wear moisture-wicking, lightweight clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Avoid heavy fabrics that retain sweat. Many prefer shorts and tank tops or sports bras to stay cool.
Yes, hot yoga can be safe for beginners as long as you listen to your body and take breaks when needed. Start with beginner-friendly classes and let the instructor know you are new to hot yoga so they can offer modifications.
For beginners, starting with 2-3 classes per week is recommended to allow your body to adjust. As you become more experienced, you can increase the frequency to 4-5 times per week based on your fitness goals and recovery.
